Hello, my name is Kyle Cawthon and I am a graduate of the Recording Arts. I haven’t always been interested in working with sound or music; I am actually chose this path to work in film. While working on video projects, I discovered that sound is simultaneously the most overlooked yet the most important aspect to the movie making process. After pursuing a degree and career in audio, I realized that I could work in nearly all fields of entertainment, and have the freedom to work in various capacities.

Over the years, I have gained a lot of experience with many parts of the film production process, from writing out scripts and scene blocking, to doing rotoscoping, editing, and making my own scores. Along the way, I have built up my own cache of equipment ranging from camera cranes to wireless lavaliere microphones. I have also learned how to use several different programs related to either video or audio editing/recording. With all these things, I have found I can tackle nearly any project.

Currently, I am working on an Internet video series about arcade games where I am a co-host and editor. Outside of my personal work, I recently finished mixing the sound for a short film from a client based in New York, and I am doing freelance work based in Orlando, Florida. If I am not working on some sort of project, I feel as if I am not using my time well, so I will always be working on something.
